She’s been a “friend” on myspace for about a year, but we’ve finally caught on to her awesomeness (along with about 180,000 other people) and in case you were as slow as we were in discovering Kate Voegele, here is “Wish You Were” off her aMaZiNg album, Don’t Look Away. Enjoy!

We all have those days…you know the ones. You wake up, and you hate everything from your hair to the size of your second toe. That is why we put together our fave tunes to get you into your good self esteem groove! 

1) Superwoman by Alicia Keys: We (HEART) this song! Who isn’t “searching for the better part of me”? “Even when I’m a mess, I still put on a vest with an ‘S’ on my chest, oh yes, I’m a Superwoman.”. The words in this song are so uplifting and inspiring. Makes us proud to be SuperWomen!

2) Freckles by Natasha Beddingfield: This is a song that EVERY GIRL can relate to. This is a must-listen song about a gal who used to care a TON about what people thought, then learned to embrace herself, freckles and all. (For the record, we think freckles rock!)

3) Stronger Woman by Jewel: Jewel is our gal, no doubt about it. We love this song about deciding to love yourself more than anyone else and believe in yourself by finding the stronger woman inside. Our favorite line: “From now on I’m gonna be the kind of woman I’d want my daughter to be.” Those are words we live by! (This song is especially good if you are in/leaving/left a bad relationship)

4)  Beautiful Flower by India.Arie: We are all beautiful flowers! I listened to this song all the way to NY and back again, and it reminds me so much of that trip I took on my own. It was amazing, scary and one of the best things I ever did. “There is nothing in this world that you cannot do when you believe in you.” Yup…that was my motto! Plus, it celebrates your brains, not your boobs, which is awesome.

5) A Place in this World by Taylor Swift: Who doesn’t love a little Taylor? Not bad for a high school senior! We love this song because we can all relate to not being sure of anything, and being freaked out about not knowing what we want! We all go through it, and it’s totally normal! In fact, there is something really empowering about that place, so embrace it, feel it, and you will come out with not only a way better idea of what you want, but of who you are.

Welcome Lovies!

I am happy to found your way to EG’s “Blog-a-Zine”. I don’t know if such a thing exists…apart from right here…but I hope it catches on! It’s a mix of the best of a blog (lotsa updates, fun stuff to read, updates, behind the scene stuff) and a magazine (cool features, guest writers, regular columns, advice, up to date info on cool people and more).

 There are a TON of cool “EG’s” on board who are going to be sharing their expertise with you, answering your questions and “hanging out” on here with you.
